Cool addition to MP3 player - Rockbox really rocks

Rockbox is an open source firmware for mp3 players and it creates a much cooler, playful and well informed device. Set the colors, adjust the sound, play games and play music file formats previously unavailable on your device. It is like sending your mp3 player to a nerdy, ivy league college. Listen to FLAC and AAC music files without having to convert them to mp3. So totally cool - and free!!! It does 500 other things I have not mentioned - including being a metronome or a chess timer. It just blows my mind all the features. The instruction manual is over 180 pages.  Check it out at:

If you or a loved one every refers to yourself as a geek or nerd - then you have to have Rockbox on your music player.

It works with a wide variety of music players. I have a Apple ipod 60 gig and a Sansa C200 that I have converted. You can buy the Sansa music players every now and then if you watch for the daily woot sale at www.woot.com
From the Rockbox website>

It runs on a wide range of players:
  • Apple: 1st through 5.5th generation iPod, iPod Mini and 1st generation iPod Nano
(not the Shuffle, 2nd/3rd/4th gen Nano, Classic or Touch)
  • Archos: Jukebox 5000, 6000, Studio, Recorder, FM Recorder, Recorder V2 and Ondio
  • Cowon: iAudio X5, X5V, X5L, M5, M5L, M3 and M3L
